Pediatric Basic Life Support (PBLS)

The Pediatric Basic Life Support (PBLS) Course is designed to teach anyone responsible for the care of children (e.g., parents, grandparents, babysitters, teachers) about hazards to which children may be exposed, how to make an environment safe for children, and basic rescue techniques such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and maneuvers for relief of foreign-body airway obstruction in infants and children. Persons who attend this course are eligible to receive an American Heart Association course participation card. No skills testing or written examination is required.

Intended Audience: Parents, grandparents, babysitters, teachers, and anyone interested in learning resuscitation techniques for infants and children.
