Scuba Emergency Response

The Scuba Emergency Response program, specifically designed for recreational divers by ADET, allows the diver to think, react, and make decisions during a real emergency situation. This training is supported by a stress-free, enjoyable and confident-building program, teaching each participant the skills and knowledge to provide critical care to an injured person(s).

Our Trainers are not volunteers or part-time instructors but expert professionals, full-time Instructor-Trainers in the field of Emergency Cardiac Care and Basic Life Support. Our staff are certified Lifeguards with the National Lifeguard Service and CPR Instructor-Trainers with the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario Canada. As fellow divers, we take you through this full multi-media presentation with the latest knowledge and updated materials available within the field and presented to each participant. With our learner-centered philosophy, emphasis is placed on group interaction and hands-on, practical training methods.

This First Response course deals with immediate life-threatening situations, as well as the EMS (Emergency Medical Services) system. Other topics for this program include basic Anatomy & Physiology, Victim Assessment, Unconsciousness, Shock and Trauma, S.C.U.B.A.\Pressure Related Emergencies, Marine Life Injuries, Drowning, Burns and Bleeding. The Heart Saver CPR course is included in this Emergency First Aid Program. Techniques learned are the adult CPR rescue, as well as the adult Choking procedure.
